Liejin Guo (China)


Chang Jiang Scholar distinguished professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University.

Prof. Liejin Guo received his BS, MS and Ph. D degrees in
Power Engineering and Engineering Thermal Physics from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1983, 1986 and 1989, respectively. He then worked as lecture, associate and full professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University. During the spring of 1996 he was senior visiting scholar in School of Chemical Engineering, the University of Birmingham, UK.
His current research concentrates on high efficient clean energy-power system and thermal power conversion process, high efficient conversion and utilization of renewable energy such as solar energy, biomass energy, and the mass production and use of hydrogen energy.
He has published more than 400 papers in journals, given over 30 invited or keynote lectures in international conferences. He has been awarded with Second Class Prize of National Natural Science Awards in 2007 and Second Class Prize of National Technology Innovation Awards in 2009

Key Achievements:
Progress in Solar-Hydrogen Production by Photocatalytic Water Splitting and Thermochemical Gasification of Biomass in Supercritical Water
Among series of systematic research efforts, a compound parabolic concentrator based photocatalytic hydrogen production solar rector was introduced, demonstrating the feasibility of efficient photocatalytic hydrogen production under direct solar light.
A variety of apparatus for biomass gasification, such as a miniature apparatus with a continuous operational tubing flow reactor, a bench-scale continuous apparatus for co-gasification of coal and biomass.
